OTD Legal Services is a successful, rapidly growing paralegal firm. We specialize in the defence of Provincial Offences (POA) matters, specifically traffic tickets and summary criminal matters.

  • Average paralegal wage of $40,000 – $65,000
  • Mileage and vehicle cost reimbursement

We are seeking to regularly add motivated licensed paralegal litigators to our busy firm. These positions are located throughout Southern Ontario.

Candidate requirements:

  • Must be a licensed paralegal (P1) and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO)
  • Experience as a litigator is recommended
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Offences Act is required
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Should have the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Critical thinking is necessary to succeed in these positions
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Should be able to adapt and learn quickly in new environment

Specific job requirements:

  • Courtroom litigation, including conducting trials
  • Managing and preparing client files for court
  • Obtaining instructions from clients
  • Reviewing evidence and applying appropriate case law
  • Negotiating with the prosecutor
  • Case law and legal research
  • Drafting letters & reporting outcome to clients
  • Occasional client file reviews
  • Occasional client intakes
