Determining the best traffic ticket defense isn’t a straightforward task and requires careful consideration of various factors unique to your situation. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution but rather a customized approach to address your specific circumstances and the nature of the ticket. When seeking the best defense, here are some key aspects to consider:
Ticket Or Summons?
Determining if you have just received a ticket, or have been received a summons, is crucial for developing the most effective defense strategy.
Specifics of the Ticket
Analyze the specifics of your ticket, including the type of violation, location, and time. This information will influence the approach taken.
Vehicle and Occupants
Consider details about the vehicle involved, including the number of occupants. Your defense strategy may differ if you were driving alone or with others.
Circumstances
Determine the context of the incident. Were there any substances (drugs or alcohol) involved? Were you on your way to a specific destination? These factors can impact the defense strategy.
Your Driving Record
Your driving history and any prior convictions play a role in shaping the defense. Knowing your record helps in understanding potential consequences.
Events Leading to the Charge
Discuss the sequence of events leading to the traffic ticket. Providing a clear account of what transpired is crucial for building a strong defense.

One of the first questions that my clients ask is, what is the best traffic ticket defense? Not an easy question to answer because I need to consider many things in order to actually answer that question. Some of the things that need to be considered are whether it is a Part one ticket. Or whether it is part three summons.
I’ve talked about that in other videos, so I’m not going to spend much time on that today. So to answer the question, we have to determine what mode or what procedural stream you are in. Then we would need to ask certain questions.
What type of car was involved? How many people were in that particular vehicle? Where were you going? What were, what was happening? Were there any drugs? Were there any alcohol involved in this? What’s the driving record like? What are the events? What exactly happened from the client’s memory as to what went on here? Once I know the charge the mode and some of the circumstances that led up to the person being charged, then I can probably quite quickly determine what the best traffic defense might be.
That’s something that you develop over many years of doing this type of work. It’s common and easy for us to do, but it is extremely important for us to do that. It is imperative that someone take the time to analyze what’s going on for you so that there are no mistakes and that there is no further prejudice by getting convicted of something it shouldn’t be convicted of getting a suspension that isn’t warranted or having your insurance rate quadrupled or quintupled. These are important things to determine and frankly, that’s what we do. We are quite good at doing this. And I would encourage you to spend some time, get that information together and consult with us on what the next steps should be.
One of the things you should be aware of is that when you do reach out to us, we are always going, you may not choose to hire us. I’m fine with that. We are going to help you in any way we can to help you make a good decision on what to do in order to defend yourself.
