Traffic Ticket Lawyers & Paralegals in Churchill, ON

Churchill, Ontario is located halfway between Barrie and Newmarket and thirty minutes west of Lake Simcoe. The Provincial Offences Court in Churchill is located at 6322 Yonge Street. The Provincial Offences Court deals with all charges issued under the Provincial Offences Act. Infractions under the Provincial Offences Act are separated in three distinct categories: Part 1 Offences, Part 2 Offences, and Part 3 Offences.

What is a Part 1 Offence?

Part 1 of the Provincial Offences Act deals with offences that are typically less serious matters. These charges are issued on a form called an Offence Notice, commonly referred to as a “ticket”. Examples of Part 1 Offences include Careless Driving, Fail to Yield to Traffic, Red Light – Fail to Stop, Drive on Closed Highway, Unnecessary Slow Driving, and Improper Right Turn. You have 15 days to respond to your ticket.

What is a Part 2 Offence?

Part 2 of the Provincial Offences Act deals with parking infractions. These charges are issued on a form called a Parking Infraction Notice. You have 15 days to request a review of your parking infraction.

Note – OTD Legal does not assist with parking infractions. Parking infractions have no impact on your driving record, do not carry demerit points, and do not have any impact on your insurance premiums.

What is a Part 3 Offence?

Part 3 of the Provincial Offences Act delas with more serious matters. These charges are issued on a form called a Summons to Defendant, which will indicate what you have been charged with, as well as a date and time you must appear before the Provincial Offences Court. Examples of Part 3 Offences include Stunt Driving, Driving Without Insurance, Driving While Suspended, and Failing to Stop for Police.
